I'm Glad You Asked |
A common misconception is that the Church is a BUILDING where people meet once a week and it really doesn't impact their day to day life.
The true definition of the Church, as is found in the Bible, is that a church is PEOPLE who use a building to gather together as one group, with the goal being to live lives that seek to bring out the best in those around them.
So many churches today are places not many people want to be within 500 yards of, because churches now have reputations for being places of politics, bureaucracy, and exclusion, which are the exact opposite of what the reality of a church really should be, and is what we aspire to change in this community.
Being a part of a local church should be a place where people feel loved and accepted just ofr being themselves and nothing more.
We desire to see you and your family's life transformed by what Jesus Christ can do in the midst of suffering, pain, and adversity. We don't sugarcoat life. We are trying to be the kind of community that is vulnerable... that admits
"life is hard, it isn't easy and sometimes we all mess up, but at the end of the day we are a part of something so much bigger than ourselves, something of substance, that is making a difference in people's lives."
Everyone wants to make a contribution in life... and no contribution is as big as what God can contribute to someone else through your life, and we as a church would love to be a part of that growing process.
Every other major religion in the world "requires" its members to be good people, and do good things, and then maybe...
just maybe...
your good actions will outweigh the bad ones, and you will somehow "score enough points" to EARN something from God after your mortal life is over.
What true biblical Christianity displays is that even though we are just imperfect humans, we could never "score enough points" to EARN anything from a perfect God...
but there is good news...
God has made a way for us to receive the gift of a relationship with Him.
all we have to do is accept this gift.
What the Bible tries to get through our thick human heads, is that we can't get to God on our own...
not right now, today,
and not when we die...
but God has came
down
to
us!
Hence... the good news!!
No one person can really predict what situation will cross their path in life that has the potential to have a great life-changing effect on someone else. Being a Christian, at its very basic, is seeking out those opportunities to have a life changing positive impact on someone else.
That should be the goal of every person that calls themself a Christian.
To reach out into families and homes and give...
see relationships be restored,
people's needs get met,
refrigerators are filled with food,
and electric bills are paid for a family who is tight on cash.
When we all look at our lives from this point backwards, we all remember one situation where we could have done more to help someone, and it seems like their is a little voice in our head that keeps trying to get us to act on those impulses.
That is God's voice within his creation...
his masterpiece...
YOU...
trying to help you realize the purpose that he put you on this earth for...
and he would love to see that potential realized...
right...
now.

What have you got to lose?
Really... just come to a worship gathering a couple of times and see it for yourself.
We will not embarass you, make you stand out, or ask you to sing and dance in front of us.
We just know that your life can be changed... dramatically altered from the life you live right now, and more importantly your friends and family will begin to notice that potential that exists deep within you to fulfill the purpose you have been specifically created for
... and you may pleasantly surprised when you discover it.
Why not?
You could give it a shot.
There are a lot worse things you could do...
Worst case scenario...
you miss 1 or 2 opportunities in your life to sleep in a little bit more...
Best case scenario...
you might find what you have been looking for your entire life...
You will never know until you check it out...
and by the way...
if you decide to come check us out...
wear whatever you want...
shorts, t-shirt, hawaiian shirt with sandals...
we don't care about what you look like...
we care about you!
